Color: black

Samples Accepted: Blood, Buccal Swabs

Locus Information: A locus: a-allele

The A locus has multiple alleles.  Fawn/sable coded by the Ay-allele is dominant to the wildtype aw-allele. Black and tan (necessary for tri-color) is coded for by the at-allele. Recessive black is produced by the a-allele.

Test Information: This mutation test identifies only the a-allele of the A-locus: a single base change in the ASIP gene that is associated with the color recessive black.
