Color: fawn or sable
Samples Accepted: Blood, Buccal Swabs
Locus Information: A locus: Ay-allele
The A locus has multiple alleles. Fawn/sable coded by the Ay-allele is dominant to the wildtype aw-allele. Black and tan (necessary for tri-color) is coded for by the at-allele. Recessive black is produced by the a-allele.
Test Information: This mutation test identifies only the Ay allele of the A-locus: two independent single base changes in the ASIP gene that are associated with the fawn or sable color.
