CAG has launched the „HorseHealth and Biobank Initiative (HHBI)“!

The HHBI is a research project in horse genetics in order to improve horse health and welfare throughout Europe.

Therefore DNA is isolated out of horse hair and stored in a biobank. Hundreds, even thousands of samples are needed from all different breeds and backgrounds for receiving detailed results.

The goal of the HHBI is to identify the genetic backgrounds of hereditary diseases and preferred traits in horses and to improve health and husbandry.

For achieving this, CAG needs your help as an horse or pony owner! Are you interested in supporting science with a simple hair sample? If so please see the following page of our website for further information: HHBI
